Rosa rugosa alba, White Rugosa Rose
Family  Rosaceae
Classification Species
Description This white rugosa shares many of the wonderful attributes of the species Rosa rugosa. The foliage is distinctly wrinkled and is remarkably resistant to disease. Extremely hardy, this rose adapts to a variety of conditions with ease including situations where salt tolerance is a concern. Its pale blush pink buds are pointed and quite long as they open to highly fragrant snow-white blooms that surround creamy yellow stamens. In fall, the dense foliage takes on lovely shades of orange and scarlet to accompany the large orange red hips.
